Recommended for adults diagnosed with later stages of Alzheimer’s or memory impairment.
The Courtyard features additional security functions and a special floor plan to support the unique needs of these patients by providing a safe environment geared toward promoting independence and reducing stress. Patient rooms, spatially designed for individuals with memory-loss, are positioned around the perimeter of a broad walking-path hallway that encircles a landscaped atrium courtyard. A separate nurses station, dining room, Reminiscence Center and enclosed exterior garden are also readily accessible in this wing.
We believe that all patients, regardless of cognitive limitation, are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect, in a manner that emphasizes individual strengths and promotes self-esteem. To support that, our multi-disciplinary team tailors a specialized program to the individual needs of each patient, creating a world specific to that patient’s level of understanding. Caregivers fully trained in memory-loss programming provide daily support for our patients’ health, socialization and function. Our on-site social worker helps families and friends, who are vital to a patient’s quality-of-life, better understand the process.
